Intro paragraph:
At Bythentic, our review methodology is designed to ensure consistency, accuracy, and fairness across every product we cover. We combine manufacturer specifications, published benchmarks, and verified owner feedback to build a balanced picture of how a product actually performs, rather than relying on marketing claims alone.
How We Research
Every review starts with a structured research process. We review the product’s official specifications, cross-check performance claims against independent benchmarks and expert coverage where available, and read through verified owner reviews to identify recurring strengths and complaints. We prioritize patterns across many data points over any single source, since no individual review or spec sheet tells the whole story.
How We Score
Every product is scored out of 10 based on six weighted categories specific to that product type — for example, a mesh WiFi system is scored on coverage, speed, setup simplicity, app features, reliability, and value, while a kitchen appliance is scored on performance, features, build quality, ease of use, and value. Each category reflects what actually matters most to real buyers in that product’s use case, not a one-size-fits-all checklist. Our headline score badge reflects the product’s aggregated customer star rating converted to a 10-point scale, giving readers an immediate, familiar reference point alongside our own category breakdown.
Our Honesty Policy
We do not claim to physically test every product we review. Instead, we build each evaluation from manufacturer specifications, aggregated verified owner feedback, and independent expert coverage — and we say so plainly rather than implying hands-on testing that didn’t happen. Where a product has real limitations, we say so directly in our Pros & Cons and “Skip it if” sections, even when it affects our own recommendation.
Editorial Independence
Bythentic accepts no paid placements and no sponsored reviews. We earn a commission when you purchase through some of our links, but this never influences which products we recommend or how we score them. If a product doesn’t hold up, we tell you — that’s the only way our recommendations stay worth trusting.
